New VCLF Partnership with Carrot Project Creates Agriculture Loan Fund

The Vermont Community Loan Fund and The Carrot Project announce the creation of the new Carrot Project Agriculture Loan Fund. Eligible Vermont farmers and farm-related businesses can receive loans in amounts up to $35,000. These funds will help farmers and related businesses finance capital investments and meet operating costs. The Vermont Community Loan Fund and The Carrot Project are partnering to jointly administer the program.

VCLF Awarded $1.24M by U.S. Dept. of Treasury’s Small Business Lending Fund

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced that the Vermont Community Loan Fund was awarded $1,247,000 through its Small Business Lending Fund (SBLF). The Loan Fund is among a group of 141 community banks across the country to receive funding in this latest wave of SBLF funding.

VCLF Executive Director Honored by Housing Vermont

September 2011

Housing Vermont, a statewide affordable housing developer and tax credit syndicator, honored Neil Mickenberg, Burlington, and Will Belongia, Executive Director of the Vermont Community Loan Fund, for their outstanding contributions to the provision of affordable housing in Vermont.

The awards were presented at Housing Vermont’s annual meeting on September 8 in Burlington. “It’s our pleasure to publicly recognize the work of these two talented and committed individuals,” said Housing Vermont President Nancy Owens. “In different ways, Neil and Will have demonstrated the deep and lasting impact that individuals can make.”
